Hoosier BBQ Cup

(It’s Smokin’ Hot!)

 
 

The Hoosier BBQ Cup Trail is a series of KCBS sanctioned events, that are held in Indiana, where the KCBS points earned by each participating BBQ Team will be accumulated toward an annual Hoosier BBQ Cup championship award.


The rules are very simple.  Teams must participate in any, or all, of the Hoosier BBQ Cup Trail events listed below, and the KCBS points earned from their three best events will be totaled toward the championship points chase.  The team with the most points at the end of the chase, each year, will be declared the Hoosier BBQ Cup Champion.  The Hoosier BBQ Cup Champion Team will receive the Hoosier BBQ Cup Award and a cash prize, (TBD).


During the 2010 points chase of the Hoosier BBQ Cup Trail, the promoters of the following Indiana events have agreed to put up $500, each, for this program.  (However, specific prizes have not yet been determined.  Please watch this page for updates as they develop.)



2010 Hoosier BBQ Cup Trail Events:


    1st Stop  - 05/01-02/2010 - Liberty - Indiana Smokin’ On The Water

    2nd Stop - 06/18-19/2010 - Jeffersonville - Smokin’ On The River

    3rd Stop  - 08/06-07/2010 - Jasper - Strassenfest Barbeque Contest

    4th Stop  - 08/20-21/2010 - Madison - Ribberfest:  Barbeque, Blues, & Balloons

    5th Stop  - 09/03-04/2010 - Haubstadt - The 5 Alarm Cook-off

    6th Stop  - 09/17-18/2010 - Greenfield - Rotary Bands and BBQ Contest


In 2010, all BBQ teams participating in any of these events will be automatically entered, and eligible for this honor, and the associated prize money.  Special awards will also be presented to other top finishing BBQ teams in the points chase.  Teams are free to participate in as many events as they choose, and their top three scores will be used to determine their final standings in the points chase.  (The lowest score of each team will be automatically dropped and replaced by a higher one as they continue to participate in additional events.)
